Pranjal Joshi

Born and brought up in Indore, Madhya Pradesh; I am an "Electronic Media" graduate (2015-18) from Educational Multimedia Research Center (EMRC), Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) university, Indore.

With an experience of more than 6 years, I primarily work as a Director, with equal inclination and experience in writing and editing.

However being an independent and freelance filmmaker, I have worked extensively in almost every aspect of Audio-Visual media production.

After working for 4 years I decided to pursue "Postgraduate Diploma in Liberal Studies" (2022-23) through the "Young India Fellowship (YIF)" program offered by the Ashoka University to expand my intellectual and academic horizon.

Currently I am working as the "Film and AV Lead" on a grant project by the name "InHERIT" under The Helen Hamlyn Trust and facilitated by Ashoka University.

It is a multi-dimensional project focused on intangible Indian heritage.

Among multiple deliverables under the project, currently I am creating 8 short documentaries (18-20 min.) and 10 mid length video podcasts (30-35 min.) to highlight the natural and culinary heritage from across the country.

Over the years I have created a number of projects, from fiction to non-fiction and commercials to non-profits; several of which have been selected for and won numerous national and international appreciation/awards through film festivals and screenings across the globe.

Some of them include selection of my film/s at Student Academy Awards 2022, Prix du comédien award at the Festival international du court-métrage Brèves d'Images, International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK), Bengaluru International Short Film festival (BISFF), SiGNS Film Festival, Kerala and Jury Award at PSBT Film Challenge.

As a multimedia artist I also explore Photography and Writing (literature), in Hindi as well as in English, as a medium to express my creative voice.

To sum up my passion, I am an all-arts driven person who keenly explores film making, writing (literature), photography and visual arts.

Working as an independent artist I am always trying to create something unique and meaningful with a strong belief in connecting and collaborating with people who share the same enthusiasm.
