is an international festival that celebrates documentary in all its diversity, held each January in Biarritz. It's a chance for everyone to discover the films that thrill us, unearthed from the 4 corners of the globe.

New voices award

New Voices Competition: French or international films having a maximum duration of 40 minutes, created by directors produced within an academic framework or outside of it are eligible for this competition. No constraint regarding premiere status in France, films must be © 2025 or © 2026.

Short Documentary Award

Building on another record-breaking edition, Fipadoc returns from January 22 to 30, 2027, with an ambitious program: nearly 180 documentary works to discover — all formats, all screens, all lengths, from short films to documentary series. This year, a special focus will highlight documentary productions from the Black Sea region: Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Turkey, Ukraine, and Georgia. The short film documentary rewards the best international or french film with a running time of 20 minutes or less. The endowment is for the director.
