About Festival Internacional de Cine Hispano

From the creators of the Depth of Field International Film Festival, Docs Without Borders Film Festival, and the WRPN.tv Women’s International Film Festival (among a few other successful festivals) and, under the umbrella of the WRPN.tv Network we bring you the Hispanic International Film Festival (HIFF) To ensure that each screenplay or film is read, studied, and rated individually, HIFF has instituted a system in which entries do not compete against each other but are recognized for their merits.

They compete against themselves: each entry is judged on its merits and scored according to an inherent value system. When it is your turn to be evaluated, the judges focus on your screenplay, not on all the other screenplays in the cue.

Rules & Eligibility

General Rules+

  1. REQUIREMENTS TO SUBMIT Only ONE of the following is needed to submit

  2. Produced or directed by a person of Hispanic Origin.

  3. Film has a Hispanic Lead and/or supporting actor.

  4. Film Contains a subject related to Hispanic issues.

  5. Films produced in a non-Spanish speaking country can be submitted, provided that one rule described above applies. -Films must come from any of the following countries: Argentina Bolivia Chile Colombia Costa Rica Cuba Dominican Republic Ecuador El Salvador Equatorial Guinea Guatemala Honduras Mexico Nicaragua Panama Paraguay Peru Puerto Rico Spain Uruguay USA Venezuela Films produced in a non-Spanish speaking country can be submitted, provided the other rules described above apply.

  6. REFUNDS POLICY: In the event you withdraw your submission before being Officially Selected, you will receive a refund.

  7. If you withdraw AFTER being Officially Selected, there will be NO refunds.

  8. All our judges, from selection to awarding, are paid.

  9. We don’t use unpaid volunteers.

  10. We don't have any control or influence over Polaris Pictures or any of our associate distributors deciding to offer you a production deal or even answering your email.
